PS 72 at the Scripps Bronx Borough Spelling Bee!!!!
On Tuesday, January 31, 2012, PS 72 participated in the Scripps Bronx Borough Spelling Bee. We sent three students, who won the school-wide spelling:  Baizeed Mosfique (5-305), Jake Katalay (5-301) and Jonathan Roman (5-302).  We are proud to announce that Jake Katalay placed in the top eight spellers, and will now represent PS 72 at the city-wide spelling bee!!!!  Stay tuned for details!!!  Congratulations to all of our fantastic spellers!!!

P.S. 72 is opening it's doors for families in need. Families of the P.S. 72 Community are encouraged to take advantage of the large supply of non-perishable goods year round.  Sharing in the food pantry is completely confidential.

If you are in need, or would like to donate non-perishable foods to P.S. 72's Food Pantry please contact Ms. Brugman, Parent Coordinator in Room 108.

A Note from the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians of the P.S. 72 Community,
We have been extremely busy at P.S. 72 this month. As I have been visiting different classrooms throughout the school I cannot help but notice how eager our students are when they are talking to me about all the different things they are learning every day.
In addition to working hard in the classroom, students are also working to raise money for different causes.  Under the direction of Ms. Hernandez, our students are currently participating in our annual Penny Harvest.  Our goal is to collect 30 bags of pennies.
With the ending of the first marking period, I am glad to have seen many of you attend our First Marking Period Parent Teacher Conferences.  This is a great opportunity to meet with your childs teacher and discuss his/her progress.  Your involvement in your childs education is integral in developing lifelong learners.
